01Why it exists

Praytify started with a simple observation: the most powerful thing Christians do together, pray for one another, had no real home in the digital world. Group chats bury requests. Social media turns vulnerability into performance. And the quiet prayer warriors who faithfully carry others’ burdens never get to see what God does with their faithfulness.

So we built something different. Not a social network with a Christian coat of paint. Not a meditation app with a cross on it. A genuine prayer community where spiritual action happens between people, where someone can whisper their deepest need into a phone at 2am and wake up knowing that real people carried it to God on their behalf.

No one walks through their valley alone.

02What we measure

Community first.Never content first.

Every feature must answer two questions. Does this make prayer more genuine and more accountable? And does this make the community stronger and more connected? If the answer to either is no, we do not ship it.

03How we work

We start every sprint with prayer.
Before the standup, before the backlog, we pray together.
We build for the least technical member.
If a grandmother in Lagos cannot use it, we have not finished.
We celebrate answered prayers as our highest measure.
Testimony conversion matters more to us than daily active users.
We ship weekly, because connection cannot wait.

Spiritual integrity
Every feature must make prayer more genuine, not just more frequent. We will never gamify the sacred.
Honest design
No dark patterns. No guilt triggers. No countdown timers. We respect your intelligence and your spiritual agency.
Relational depth
Technology should strengthen the connection between people, not replace it. Community is the product.

Two communities, chosen because we have real relationships in both, not because they were the largest addressable market.

Co-designed, not pitched.

We are partnering with a small number of Evangelical Free Church congregations that already embrace digital ministry. We work directly with prayer ministry leaders rather than pitching from a stage, so the experience fits what their congregation actually needs.

Nigeria · Catholic parishes

Through the people already trusted.

Warm relational capital with parish priests opens doors that cold outreach never could. WhatsApp-based onboarding for a WhatsApp-native audience, local payment support, and voice transcription that handles Yoruba and Igbo code-switching without being asked twice.

06Who is building it

A small team,growing slowly on purpose.

John Kolade

Founder

Engineer turned builder. Believes prayer is the most underserved human need in technology, and that a community carrying one another in prayer is worth building slowly and carefully.

The rest of the team is engineers and designers who pray, guided by pastoral advisors across the traditions we serve. We would rather move carefully and be trusted with what people bring us than grow quickly and handle it badly.
